We are a folk dance group from Gällivare/Malmberget, Swedish Lapland.
Gällivare is situated in north of Sweden
Our dances have their roots in Swedish tradition, from 1850 onwards. We are also interested in folk music, singing, national costumes
and traditional handicraft.
We use old knowledge to develop new choreographies, and we like to tryevery dance that seems fun. We are showing our own choreographies,
which mostly are built on traditional dances, or dances from the turn of the century 1800/1900 onwards. Our costumes are traditional, or
typical at the time.
We want to make something more of our shows than just present a number of dances. We are trying to have a theme, where dance, clothing, and music are linked.
We use old and make new. Imagine playing "cat and mouse", dance traditional folk dance and a dance from the turn of the century 1800/1900, in the casino environment and to "Live and let die"...
You are welcome to join us!
We adapt our dances to the actual circumstances, and we take pride in making dance opportunities as much fun as possible for those who participate.
